Swimsuit Inspiration!

This weekend I am headed to the Dominican Republic for a few days of fun in the sun, and also a wedding! Our resort has several pools and beaches, so of course I need to purchase a new swimsuit (or two!). Plus, I live just a couple miles from the beach, so I'm definitely going to get a lot of mileage out of these. Here are a few swimsuits I've found that I'm loving!

I love the faux corsetry on this floral bikini from Aerie. It makes the boyshorts less boyshort-y.

Flounce bikini tops are super trendy this summer! This one by Raisins is pretty, and in classic black!

I'm not a huge fan of one-pieces, but I've seen quite a few cute ones this season. This one-piece from Hula Honey has a fun retro feel to it.

This one from Becca is pretty simple, but I love the pattern (and that necklace)!

I love the ruffles on this one from Forever 21!

This tank one-piece from Miraclesuit is really kind of elegant.

I lovelovelove this crochet one-piece from Robin Piccone, but I don't think the color would work for me since I'm so pale. It would just blend in!!!

Love the plunge on this one-piece from Beach Riot!

And of course, you've gotta have a coverup!

I LOVE this pink chevron coverup from Miken at Macy's.

This strapless navy & white ombre one from Raviya at Macy's is gorgeous!

5 Fandom Friday: Favorite Games I Love To Play

This week's 5 Fandom Friday is 5 favorite games I love to play!

1. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf for over a year now, and though I don't play as often, I still love it. Every week or so, I'll fire it up again and hunt for some fossils, catch some bugs and fish, say hi to my villagers, and buy some new furniture. It never gets old!

2. Disney Tsum Tsum

I've been obsessed with this game for a little while now, and it's gotten even better with the addition of bingo card challenges. How can I not love a game that's about cute little Disney characters?! Come on, do you even know me?!

3. Plants vs Zombies

You know how much I like zombies, right? They're the bad guys in this, of course, and the plants are all that are left to keep the earth from becoming overrun with zombies. I came so close to beating this one time!

4. Angry Birds

There are so many iterations of this game now, and I think I've played at least a little bit of each one. I think the Space one is my fave. I love the gravity/lack thereof parts of it that make it that much more challenging. I also love Bad Piggies, where you have to construct a cart using various kinds of wheels, fans, engines, and bottle rockets to get through a course carrying a piggie.

5. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

You didn't see this one coming, did you?? I spent a few bucks to down this on my Kindle, and no regrets. I don't know, I guess it gets my aggression out or something. Is it violent? Yes. Is that why I like it? Yes. Driving around is also kind of fun too!

Things I Love Thursday - OPI, Hunger Games Prequel FanFic, Barbie's Instagram!

OPI Brazil Collection!

Okay, this collection is from Summer 2014, but I'm just now getting around to wearing it. I currently have I'm Brazil Nuts Over You on my nails, and it is just gorgeous. It's kind of a coral red, and it's quite glittery. It's a great color for summer!

Ragnarok, a Hunger Games Prequel Fan Fiction!

So this is kind of a different one... I recently read a Hunger Games prequel fan fiction called Ragnarok. It tells the story of how Panem became Panem, beginning in the year 2070, when multiple asteroids impacted the entire earth, killing 90% of America's population and destroying almost every government system in the world. It very elegantly depicts how things like tesserae, floggings as punishment, mutts, and even the name Panem came to be, in ways that are totally organic. It handled the scientific, military, and political jargon and situations in a compelling, totally non-boring way. When she described what happened the day the earth was hit by the meteors, I was completely enthralled. I can just absolutely see this as being canon!

Barbie's Instagram!

I'm oddly fascinated by iconic doll Barbie's Instagram. Everything is styled so beautifully. Who's job is that? What an awesome job that would be! "So what do you do?" "Oh, I style Barbie's photoshoots for her Instagram page."

Barbie's life = better than yours

Star Wars Celebration 2015!

Look at that fancy focal zoom!

This weekend, I attended my third convention in a month - Star Wars Celebration! I haven't been to this one since it was in Los Angeles in 2007, which seems like a lifetime ago!

The convention actually started on Thursday, but due to life/work/blah, we did not go until Friday night. After a two-hour drive (!!!) to Anaheim, we got there with only an hour left til the Exhibit Floor closed. We saw as much as could, though not before hitting up one of the several full bars they had!! That's really what's been missing from many of the cons we go to. Come on, see, buzzed people are more likely to buy things they don't need! It's a win-win!

Once it closed, we headed over to the Celebration Stage to see Anthony Daniels, aka C3PO! His panel was hilarious! They showed some of the crazy products he's been associated with, like underoos, and this amazing tape dispenser, below. Someone in the audience actually had it with them, for some reason!

Saturday was more of the same, checking out the floor and panels! We attended one with some production designers from the films, and another about the evolution of CGI which was actually really interesting. They showed clips from movies going back to the 80s, and spoke about how each worked, and contributed to future films. The last thing we did for the night was watch the first part of Empire Strikes Back. They showed two movies each night, starting with Episodes 1-3 in never before seen 3D! We only had time to catch ESB, though.

Here's a few fun things from the floor:

Furbacca! I had several Furbys back in the day. This one speaks Wookie and hums the Star Wars theme. You can even pet him and he enjoys it! Obviously I am going to need this.

Star Wars to-do lists, Darth Vader Xmas Sweater ornament, and Boba Fett & Carbonite Han Solo Itty Bittys from Hallmark!

Pink Stormtrooper! They should make a purple one...

There was a display case full of R2-D2s in various forms! Here are 3 of the best ones:

We were up early on Sunday, so we decided to go to California Adventure first! We practically walked right on to Tower of Terror, and then had a fairly short wait in the single rider line at Radiator Springs Racers. We ate some yummy burgers from the newly reopened Smokejumper's Grill, and then went back to the convention center!

Cars Land is so beautiful!
Here's some of the awesome cosplay I saw:

Hello Kitty R2
"George Lucas" showed up... to protest. Oh dear...
Beauty & The Beast Jedi
Bounty Hunters Rapunzel & Flynn

I didn't end up buying very much, for some reason, but here's what I did pick up:
-Tiny figurines of Iron Man, Indiana Jones, Luke holding Yoda, Lotso, and Chewbacca holding a christmas tree that I got in a 5 for $20 box
-a Time Turner (surprisingly awesome quality for the price)
-stuffed Chewbacca backpack!!

Oh and check out this ad I found for the original Star Wars Celebration back in 1999! It was in a copy of Wizard magazine that I picked up at WonderCon, randomly!!

Outside the con center. So packed!

Things I Love Thursday - HabitRPG, Squishables, Radha Beauty

HabitRPG!

It's no secret that I love to-do lists. I don't necessarily love doing my to-dos, but I sure love organizing them! HabitRPG is a fun way to not only track your todos, but also to keep yourself accountable to them. Every time you complete a task, you get experience points, and if you don't complete it, you lose health points! Complete enough tasks, and you will level up. I also really love how they categorize tasks into habits, dailies, and todos.

Micro Squishables!

For whatever reason, I seem to have an underwater theme going on with my workdesk Squishables. A jellyfish, manatee, and narwhal all live right underneath my monitor. At 3 inches tall, they're the perfect size for cute desk decor.

Radha Beauty Clearing Serum!

Radha Beauty's Clearing Serum is somehow good for both anti-aging and healing blemished skin, which is amazing for those of us who are *coughcough* of a certain age and still battling acne, but also concerned about wrinkles. It contains vitamin c, retinol, and salicylic acid, which is a bunch of good stuff you really want in your skincare stuff. I've recently started adding retinod moisturizers into my skincare regimen because it's great at unclogging pores and boosting collagen to give you brighter, clearer, and softer skin.

Disclaimer: I received a free sample from Radha Beauty for review purposes.

5 Fandom Friday: 5 Magical Objects I'd Love To Own

This week's 5 Fandom Friday is 5 magical objects I would love to own!

1. A wand for sure. FOR SURE. I mean, I already own one, but I want one that actually works. How awesome would that be?! Plus they're all different and unique! I think mine would have a unicorn tail core.

2. Nenya, one of the 3 rings of power in LOTR, owned by Galadriel. Containing a white stone, it was as bright as a star. This ring provided protection from evil. Plus, like, look how pretty it is!

3. Does a lightsaber count as magical? I don't care, I'm including it. I don't think this would have as many practical uses as a wand would, but I don't care, I want one. And it would definitely be purple.

4. An invisibility cloak, for those times you just want to be invisible. Which is a lot!

5. A unicorn is not an object exactly, but it is magical and I want one. Every little girl's dream!
